The opportunity: We are looking for an enthusiastic person to join us as a Community Programmes Coordinator to create and implement educational and creative programmes and resources, designed to deepen, expand and enhance the visitor experience and encourage greater public use of Dunedin Public Libraries. This role will be primarily based in our newest facility, South Dunedin Library, though will connect with the wider library network by providing training to staff to deliver programmes across the city and community. Key responsibilities include: Programmes: Create programmes for STEAM education for the community and for our customers to fully utilise the equipment safely and provide programmes of learning to foster curiosity and creative experiences to customers Outreach: Build relationships with community organisations, schools, and local businesses to collaborate on programmes and initiatives People: Ensure customers and staff are effectively trained and supervised during use of all creative spaces and equipment. Operations: Coordinate the implementation of programmes, including scheduling, resource allocation and logistics. Ideally you will have: A relevant tertiary qualification in Library and Information Science Experience engaging and networking with diverse communities Experience working in library, school or similar public programme-based organisation Proven ability of delivering successful community programmes Current and clean driver's licence Excellent written and oral communication skills As a component of this role involves interaction with children, we require Police Vetting as per the Children's Act 2014, which needs to be maintained over the course of your employment. We have 2 Community Programme Coordinator roles available:36.5 hours per week Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 9.00 AM - 5.30 PM and Saturday 8.30am - 3.30 PM37.5 hours per week Please indicate on your cover letter which option above is your preferred, and what your available start date would be. What we offer5 weeks annual leave + additional long service leave after qualifying periods Parental leave benefits, including paid partner's leave5% superannuation (after 6 months of service) + free annual flu vaccinations and eye checks every 2 years Salary range:$61,722 - $72,614 per annum (pro-rated for hours worked)The DCC is committed to the Principles of the Treaty of Waitangi and our work serving the citizens of Dunedin will reflect this.
