Sterile Services in the Surgery, Women & Children’s Directorate at Wellington Regional Hospital is seeking a Business Support Administrator. This role is to be administrative support to the line manager by taking delegated duties and operational tasks to deliver a high standard of service to both our internal and external customers.

Mō tō mātou rōpū – About our team

The Sterile Services team plays a vital role in patient safety and reducing infection. And it's not simply a matter of washing things, it's a highly qualified job. The department cleans, disinfects, and sterilises reusable medical equipment, from surgical instruments, to flexible scopes and anaesthetic masks used in theatre. The team sterilises a staggering amount - tens of thousands of items a day. The team carries out a range of procedures depending on the instrument, and takes care of the entire process, from initial assessment to reassembling and categorising instruments ready for collection.

The successful applicant will have:

Competency in Microsoft office  Advanced level of word processing High level skills in Excel  Ability to manage database functions Demonstrated experience in service, quality or process improvements Demonstrated experience in administration/business support Proven experience in a people-facing administration role Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines Practices the requirement of confidentiality
