Metlifecare Karori is located just a few minutes from the residential heart of Karori. Our village offers Resthome, hospital and dementia level care and is in walking distance of shops, cafes and large reserves. Karori is only four kilometers from Wellington's city centre.

About the role
Our resident focused Care Home team is on the look-out for a fabulous Registered Nurse to join them on a casual basis giving you the flexibility, where you get to choose the shifts you want to work to suit your lifestyle. Work as much or as little as you choose each week.

Some of the things you will be doing

Clinical assessment, planning and implementation of nursing care
Effective communication and clinical problem-solving skills
Work collaboratively with other team members
Develop and review care plans in consultation with our residents and their families
Provide compassionate and high-level care

As a member of our bureau you will have access to; On going in-service training (theory and practical), supported training or relevant certifications with accredited NZ educational providers, access to staff discounts and our employee wellness program and a full orientation provided with Buddying shifts during the first week

About you
You will appreciate how important this position is in delivering an outstanding service to our residents, so you will have empathy for the older person.

Current APC and first aid certificate
InterRai qualified would be desirable
Competent with medication management and administration techniques
Up to date knowledge of wound care management
Care, empathy and compassion to the elderly
Able to work collaboratively within a Team Nursing environment
