He kōrero mō te tūranga: About the role
The Sustainability and Engagement Advisor plays a key part in delivering and developing community-facing environmental programmes.
You'll have the opportunity to plan and facilitate workshops, support volunteers, and grow partnerships that extend EAT's impact across Auckland.
Key responsibilities include:
Designing and delivering practical workshops on sustainability, waste reduction, and climate action.
Coordinating community activations (e.g. clean‐ups, working bees, eco‐hub sessions) and supporting logistics.
Building strong relationships with ethnic and grassroots community groups, partners, and volunteers.
Creating culturally relevant resources that make sustainability accessible to everyone, including non‐native English speakers.
Supporting reporting, administration, and funding documentation for EAT programmes.
Integrating Te Ao Māori values into community initiatives in a practical, inclusive way.
This is a varied and rewarding position suited to someone who enjoys working with people, thrives in dynamic environments, and wants their mahi (work) to make a tangible difference in communities.
We are looking for someone who is passionate, proactive, and comfortable engaging with diverse communities.
You will thrive on variety — moving between community events, workshops, and relationship‐building activities.
You will have:
Experience, relevant qualifications and passion in sustainability, zero waste, or climate action.
