'Join us - an organisation that grew out of bold thinking and has an enduring commitment to care for others at work, home and play Mō te tūranga mahi | About the role We have a 12-month fixed term/secondment to join our team as a Senior Māori Health Services Advisor. You will be responsible for supporting the ongoing delivery of services and programmes that will better deliver on Māori customer needs. This role will be focussed on managing the operational functions of the rongoā service, supporting a portfolio of work being delivered to improve Māori health, address equity issues that exist for Māori, and deliver improved outcomes for Māori. This role will be responsible for building strong relationships with our providers, managing provider and service performance and supporting promotion of Māori health services both internally and externally. This is a 12-month secondment opportunity, based in either the Bay of Plenty or Hamilton. Some of the important mahi you will be involved in: Provide support to the Māori Health Manager including all tasks relevant to the Rongoā service objectives. Provide senior operational leadership to continue the ongoing delivery of the Rongoā Māori service. Provide training opportunities, mentorship, peer support and technical expertise as the subject matter expert to all Māori Health Advisors. Engaging with and supporting existing providers to understand equity issues that exist for Māori within ACC and supporting them through evolving their service offerings to include Māori Health choices, and improved Kaupapa Māori services. Oversight of all rongoā Māori registrations, complaints and peer reviews Provide ACC business units and teams with appropriate Māori Health knowledge for the development of health services offered to Māori. Relevant tertiary qualification and demonstrated relevant experience in Māori health. Demonstrated experience in service commissioning. Experience or knowledge of whānau-centred approaches, programmes, and delivery, Good knowledge of Te Reo and tikanga with a strong understanding of Māori culture, values, political and social systems, including strong Iwi networks and an understanding of the Māori/Iwi health sector. Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills and the ability to communicate confidently and effectively with wide range of Māori and non-Māori audiences. Knowledge of Te Ao Māori measurement, conceptual and outcome frameworks An active commitment to, and working knowledge of, the Treaty of Waitangi. Strong collaborative skills to support ACC-wide efforts to raise Māori service provision skills within the business. An understanding of Māori data sovereignty, protection of data rights to support Māori hapū, iwi and Māori entity interests and aspirations is desirable.
