Kōrero mō te Tūranga | About the Role We’re keen to take our environment to the next level, and we see automated implementation of our foundations as integral to this journey.

Environment Canterbury provides an incredibly varied set of services to the people of Canterbury.

We have a complex network encompassing local and azure cloud, Io T, Fortinet firewalls; Microsoft augmentation tools like Intune, autopilot and MDM, as part of a heavy focus within the Microsoft environment; and much more.

You will have experience with utilising code to automate everyday tasks, and if your tool of choice is Terraform, then we are really keen to hear from you.

We have radically lifted the maturity of our foundational platforms and have invested in Infrastructure-as-code to do it.

It is our future – make it yours too! This role is part of a wider infrastructure team focusing on smooth operations, engineering out the mess, and engineering in the enhancements.

Your colleagues are skilled in their specialities, and ready to collaborate with you in yours.

About You │ Mōu You’ll be tertiary qualified and have a minimum of 5 years of experience working within digital infrastructure teams.

You’re a digital-network native, comfortable within the Microsoft technology stack.

You’re enhancing your infrastructure-as-code skills, and you are experienced with utilising them with network objects and to automate operational tasks.

More about you: Engage with your team of engineers, sharing your skills and understanding and sharing their responsibilities Comfortable leveraging the skills of your colleagues and providing input to initiatives Have a strategic mindset - you’ll see the future state and be eloquent in proposing it Be an expert problem solver, focusing on the root cause and how to engineer it out Have proven excellent ‘customer-centricity’, managing expectations competently Be open to changing environments and evolving technologies You’ll be comfortable working flexible hours to meet the needs of the business, due to the nature of this role, some outside standard working hours may be required.
