Are you passionate about strategic leadership, making a real difference for communities, and fostering partnerships that uphold the aspirations of mana whenua and Māori? We're looking for an inspiring leader to step into the new role of Kaiwhakahaere o Mana Ruruku at Dunedin City Council.
About the Role
You will:
Provide strong strategic direction, shaping a team structure aligned with the Council's strategic objectives and the needs of our community.
Lead initiatives that ensure the Te Taki Haruru (DCC's Māori strategic framework) is embedded throughout Council strategies, plans, and processes.
Use Te Taki Haruru to review and improve operational policies, systems, and practices.
Build and sustain key relationships, ensuring effective partnerships between the Council, mana whenua, and local Māori.
Drive a positive and inclusive team culture, nurturing professional development and delivering impactful programmes of work.
Have proven leadership skills at a senior management level, a strong relationship with mana whenua, proven ability in application of te ao Māori and Treaty principles, and a passion for creating meaningful change.
