We're looking for a self-motivated and experienced public health policy leader, who can confidently represent the values and principles of the PHANZ in public and/or political forums. If you have impressive organisation skills, well-developed business and policy writing skills and are results focused with the ability to 'finish' tasks – we want you! As the Senior Policy Advisor, you will be responsible for the development and management of the Public Health Association of New Zealand's policy framework, including the annual policy review cycle. Your key foci will be to develop evidence-based policy statements and submissions, which represent a collective public health voice and contribute toward creating healthier societies. A few things you will be involved in: Developing and implementing an effective public health policy framework, including an annual policy review cycle Monitoring and responding to national, regional and local policy development and trends Weekly and monthly reporting against the agreement public health policy framework Managing and building robust relationships with existing and new partners Formulating evidence-informed policy statements and submissions Presenting policy positions at policy subcommittee and annual general meetings Oversight and content creation for monthly members panui and think pieces (website and social media blogs) You will have: Strong commitment and understanding of Te Reo Maori and Tikanga Maori Relevant tertiary qualification, e.g., in public health or health management (preferred) Passion for policy analysis and development, ideally in public health Background in health promotion, health equity and sustainable development Confidence to represent the values and principles of the PHANZ in public and/or political forums Well-developed business and policy writing skills Strong organisational skills and the ability to proactively manage multiple tasks and deadlines for self and others Flexibility and results focused with the ability to 'finish' tasks (a good finisher) Ra Katinga | Applications Close Applications will run through to midnight Thursday, 14 December.
