About the role - Mō te tūranga

Downer Tree Services are a dynamic, professional and highly experienced team who service multiple clients throughout the wider Wellington region. Our variety of work ranges from storm response within the urban and rural areas, large-scale project work, hazardous tree removal and routine urban tree maintenance, which includes Notable Trees and trees within the power network. We are Members of the NZ Arboriculture Association and have applied for NZ Arb approved contractor status.

We are seeking an experienced Arborist with a professional attitude to be part of our great Wellington regional team. This is a challenging role, working 40 hours per week (plus a stand by call out roster allowance) and provides first response during storms or significant weather events) and may include live line work around 11KV and 400KV lines.

The successful applicant will ensure a high level of safety is adhered to in order to protect the public, other team members, and themselves, therefore a commitment to Health and Safety is essential. Our goal is that everyone returns home each night to their family and friends.

In addition to the above, we are seeking a skilled climber who is ideally fully qualified LV4 and above with an HT licence and the following:

Urban tree preservation experience is essential
Naturally, you will have a positive attitude, have fantastic communication skills and be quality driven
Basic Utility experience essential but further network training will be provided
