Van Dyck Fine Foods – Bell Block, North Island Van Dyck Fine Foods (VDFF) was established in 1999 by Marcel Naenen and Inge Vercammen.
VDFF is a market leader in hotplate baked, frozen thaw-back products.
The business prides itself on quality, based on traditional Belgian recipes and manufactured to exacting standards.
Today, VDFF is majority owned by Oriens Capital a private equity investment manager who partners with ambitious Kiwi businesses, growing their capability and strength.
VDFF's product portfolio includes Pancakes/Pikelets, Blinis/Minis and Crepes.
VDFF produces its own Marcels branded products, and partners with other retailers and distributors for Private Label & Contract Manufacturing.
We operate from a single site in Bell Block, New Plymouth and are a substantial employer in the local economy, currently providing jobs for over 80 people.
The Role We are seeking a detail-oriented and tech-savvy Analyst to join VDFF.
The primary focus of this role will be to assist to digitise manual processes, improve planning and scheduling operations, and enhance overall efficiency.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data analysis, system implementation and an ability to align business systems, data and processes at speed.
This is a full-time role working onsite at our New Plymouth location.
Key Responsibilities Digitisation of Manual Processes: Identify and analyse current manual processes within the manufacturing operations.
Develop and implement digital solutions to streamline workflows and improve accuracy.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless integration of new technologies.
Provide training and support to staff on new digital tools and processes.
Business Partnering - Systems: Provide guidance and expertise on industry-leading technologies, reporting tools, and data management methodologies.
Engage with stakeholders across the administration and factory teams to capture and map current processes, procedures and systems and to identify efficiencies and opportunities for improvements around technology and information.
Design and implement system solutions that meet business needs and improve operational efficiency, including end-to-end integration across machine devices, warehouse, quality, and ERP systems.
Ensure system solutions align with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
Assist help people adopt new processes and learn new technology.
Data Analysis and Reporting: Collect and analyse data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.
Build and maintain data transformation pipelines to support reporting and operational workflows.
Prepare detailed reports and presentations for management, outlining findings and recommendations.
Utilise data to drive continuous improvement initiatives and enhance decision-making processes.
Diagnose and resolve issues with third‐party cloud solutions through log analysis and interface testing.
Liaise with vendors and internal stakeholders to manage escalations and ensure timely resolution.
Project Management: Responsibility for delivering projects related to digitising processes and improving data collection and management.
Coordinate with cross‐functional teams to ensure project milestones are met.
Monitor project progress, resolve issues, and communicate updates to stakeholders.
Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in manufacturing and process improvement.
Propose and implement innovative solutions to enhance operational efficiency.
Participate in regular review meetings to discuss progress and share best practices.
Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
Strong knowledge of digital transformation and process improvement methodologies.
Advanced proficiency in data analysis (e.g., Excel, SQL, Python, etc.).
Strong understanding of data visualisation and transformation tools, including Power BI, Azure Functions, and the broader Power Platform ecosystem.
Experience with manufacturing and enterprise resource planning systems.
Familiarity with integration protocols such as REST APIs, Webhooks, and MQTT.
Knowledge of device management platforms such as Microsoft Intune.
Excellent problem‐solving and analytical skills.
Strong project management and organizational skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Right to work in New Zealand.
Preferred Skills Familiarity with Cin 7 Core and Odoo WMS.
Experience working within manufacturing organisations.
