Continuous Improvement Lead
with a passion for operational excellence and people leadership to shape the delivery of one of Auckland’s most transformative infrastructure projects – the Eastern Busway.
About the Role
In this role, you’ll drive the strategy and delivery of operational excellence across the Eastern Busway Alliance. This people-focused role is about leading continuous improvement, aligning teams and embedding more efficient ways of working.
Define and execute the operational excellence strategy across the alliance
Drive a culture of continuous improvement, lean practices, and innovation
Coach and develop teams
Champion collaboration across commercial, project controls, construction, design, quality and leadership teams to deliver streamlined outcomes
What you’ll bring to the role
Proven experience in managing teams, in an Engineering Manager or similar leadership position.
A tertiary qualification in a related field or equivalent experience
Expertise in implementing data and digital strategies, with a strong focus on operational excellence initiatives.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to prepare reports, presentations, and engage diverse audiences.
Commercial acumen, including subcontractor management and budget control.
About Eastern Busway Alliance (EBA)
EBA includes Auckland Transport, Fletcher Construction, ACCIONA, AECOM, and Jacobs. We’re working on a major project for Auckland, adding dedicated lanes for high-frequency bus services that link Botany, Pakuranga, and nearby suburbs with the Panmure rail network. The project features cycling and walking paths, safety upgrades, environmental enhancements, roading improvements, and a Reeves Road flyover, offering more travel options and more reliable journey times.
About Us
We pride ourselves on safely delivering a wide variety of construction and infrastructure projects for the people of New Zealand and the South Pacific. But our power is not in what we do, it’s in who we are. We are a team of 3,700 people working under three brands: Fletcher Construction, Higgins, and Brian Perry Civil. We may be a big team, but we haven’t lost sight of what really matters: looking after our people.
We recognise that treating our people well is only partially about what happens during work hours. It’s also about the impact we have outside of work hours too. That’s why we have incredible learning and development opportunities for staff and their families, industry-leading parental leave, support systems and generous corporate discounts.
Interested? Apply Now!
We are actively looking to fill this role and encourage your early application. Applications are reviewed regularly, and we reserve the right to remove the advertisement before the advertised closing date.
Research shows that females and minority groups don’t always apply for roles unless they match 100% of the requirements. So, if this role is of interest but you feel you don’t quite fit, we encourage you to apply anyway. We are enriched by many nationalities, languages, religions, customs, and lifestyles. We are proud of our diversity and see it as one of the things that make us better together.
