As a Data Product Owner, you will specialize in managing data products designed to leverage data for insights, decision-making, and operational efficiency. Working within a collaborative squad and Agile environment, you will prioritize work to maximize the value of our data products while ensuring data governance, quality, and regulatory compliance. Collaborating closely with data engineers, analysts, and Watercare's analytics team, you will create data-driven solutions. This role requires a deep understanding of data technologies and data management practices. Key skills include data quality, data governance, and the ability to translate complex data concepts into actionable business insights. You will oversee the end-to-end management of data products, ensuring alignment with business goals and delivering value to Watercare. Your main stakeholders will be the end users of our data products, and you will work closely with the Data Tech Lead to create and deliver a data product roadmap that supports business objectives. Your responsibilities include: Setting the vision and planning cycle work, managing the development process, and prioritizing business requirements alongside support and technical improvement work. Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, maintaining data quality and security, and driving continuous improvement through performance monitoring and feedback. Implementing data governance standards and fostering a data-driven culture within the team and organization. Engaging with stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure their needs are translated into technical solutions. Leading and mentoring the data engineering team, fostering a collaborative and Agile environment. Monitoring data product performance and driving continuous improvements based on feedback and new insights. Ensuring comprehensive documentation and providing training to team members and stakeholders. Evaluating and adjusting priorities during cycle and sprint planning to ensure the most impactful tasks are addressed while maintaining system performance and reliability. Collaborating with the Data Tech Lead to create high-quality technical solutions that bring value to the organization. Minimum Requirements: Understanding of ETL tools such as ADF, Glue, Lambda, Talend, etc. Advanced SQL knowledge and experience working with databases, query authoring, and familiarity with various databases like SQL Server, Redshift, Postgre SQL. Understanding of modern data concepts such as Io T, streaming, lakehouse, and notebooks. Familiarity with cloud environments, particularly AWS and Azure. Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and processes, and their importance in data engineering. Familiarity with version control systems such as ADO (Git). Experience working in or leading an Agile team, such as a Data Product Owner. Knowledge of data governance, data management, and data quality best practices. Experience with big data storage/lake architectures, such as S3, ADL, blob storage, etc. Recognized and relevant technology industry qualifications.
