Fire Engineer – Lead Projects from Concept to Completion

We’re a small, agile fire engineering consultancy with room to grow in our Auckland office — and we’re on the lookout for a confident, experienced Fire Engineer who’s ready to take full ownership of projects from day one. If you're someone who thrives on autonomy, responsibility, and seeing your work through from initial concept design to final sign-off at the construction stage, we want to hear from you. What You’ll Be Doing:

Leading fire engineering projects from early-stage design through to completion
(Junior/Intermediate engineers will be mentored through this process where applicable)
Developing fire strategies and engineering solutions for a wide range of buildings
Liaising directly with clients, design teams, and contractors
Managing your own workload and delivering high-quality, compliant solutions
Providing support on site during construction and overseeing the sign-off process

What We’re Looking For:

A degree in Fire Engineering or a related discipline
Experience within a fire engineering consultancy
Proven ability to manage projects independently
A good understanding of project design and building construction
Excellent communication skills and confidence in client-facing roles
A thorough understanding of NZ fire safety regulations, NZ Building codes
Chartered or working toward chartership is a plus
