Shirley Parsons is partnering with an iconic Auckland-based transport and logistics company to seek a dynamic HSW Advisor to join their expanding team. People are recognized as the company's biggest asset, employing over 750 staff across diverse departments, including Multi-Cargo, Engineering, Container Terminal Operations, Marine, and Main Office support.
This operational role provides a visible face for safety on site and supports managers with incident investigation, hazard management, and best practices. You will play a vital part in the implementation of strategy, maintaining a positive culture, and building relationships with all stakeholders on site. You'll be people-focused, able to coach, engage, and support.
Responsibilities:
Assisting the Senior team in implementing the Safety Strategy and Annual Safety Plans
Guiding managers and supervisors to take responsibility for the management of safety
Engaging teams to build effective relationships and implement robust HSW measures
Coordinating and delivering regular monitoring activities
Supporting significant incident investigations, ensuring timely and accurate close-out and implementation of corrective actions
Qualifications:
Experience working in dynamic and complex high-risk environments (aviation, construction, oil & gas, etc.)
Ability to build relationships and influence change on a large scale
Practical working knowledge of the HSWA, Contractor Management, and the Return-to-Work process
High level of competence in understanding JSA / SWMS / PTW and confident working with IT
Relevant H& S Level 4 qualification or higher
