About the role
Degree Air Conditioning and Electrical Services Limited is seeking a highly skilled and experienced HVAC Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team in our Auckland CBD office. This is a full-time role that will involve leading the design and implementation of complex HVAC systems for a diverse range of commercial and industrial projects.
What you'll be doing
Oversee the design and development of HVAC systems, ensuring they meet all relevant building codes, industry standards and client requirements
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project managers, architects and construction workers, to coordinate the seamless integration of HVAC systems into building projects
Perform detailed calculations, modelling and analysis to optimise the efficiency and performance of HVAC systems
Provide technical expertise and guidance to junior engineers and technicians
Ensure all design work is completed on time and within budget
Stay up-to-date with the latest HVAC technologies, regulations and industry best practices
What we're looking for
Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
Minimum 8 years' experience in HVAC system design, preferably in a commercial or industrial setting
Extensive knowledge of HVAC system components, control systems and building automation
Proficiency in using CAD software and HVAC design/simulation tools
Strong problem-solving, analytical and technical skills
Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
