Choice of locations – Auckland/Tauranga/Wellington/Christchurch!About the Role: As an Air Quality Scientist, you will play a critical role in monitoring, analysing, and modelling air quality data.
Your work will support policy decisions, public health initiatives, and research projects aimed at reducing air pollution and mitigating its effects on the environment and society. Key Responsibilities: Design and implement air quality monitoring programs. Analyse air quality data from sensors, satellites, and other sources to assess pollution trends. Develop and apply air quality models to forecast pollutant dispersion and identify sources. Collaborate with stakeholders to design solutions for improving air quality. Interpret and present findings in reports, presentations, and peer-reviewed publications. Stay updated on regulations, standards, and scientific advancements in air quality management. Advise policymakers on air quality issues and their implications for public health and the environment. About You: A degree in Environmental Science, Atmospheric Science, Chemistry, Engineering, or a related field. Proven experience in air quality research, monitoring, or modeling. Proficiency with tools and software such as GIS, MATLAB, Python, R, or similar for data analysis and modeling. Strong understanding of air quality regulations and pollutant chemistry. Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences. Advanced degree (Master's or Ph D) in a related discipline. Experience with satellite data, remote sensing, or advanced monitoring technologies. Familiarity with public health implications of air pollution.
