This technical role will be responsible for conducting advanced security assessments, providing expert security guidance to our clients, performing security research, and supporting technical aspects of the sales process. Pulse provides: Balanced workload that allows thorough technical investigation of each assessment High standards across all client deliverables20% dedicated time for non-billable security research and professional development Hybrid/flexible working arrangements to support work-life balance A wide range of clients and different kinds of work A professional, non-corporate work environment built around strong collaboration and exceptional talent Key Responsibilities Technical Capability Complete complex technical security review engagements across all disciplines including secure architecture, web applications, networks/wifi, mobile applications, CI/CD, source code, cloud infrastructure and attacker simulation. Client Engagement Work with clients to access and understand complex systems and environments Assist in scoping and planning technical engagements Present findings and recommendations to technical and non-technical clients Build and maintain trusted relationships with clients Knowledge Development Stay current with emerging security threats and exploitation techniques Research and contribute to internal penetration testing and security review methodologies Participate in the security community through research, conferences, or publications What We're Looking For Experience: Experience with almost all security testing domains (web, network, cloud, mobile, etc) and strong expertise in most Strong understanding of modern attacker techniques, bug chaining, secure development and architecture, hands-on manual vulnerability discovery Experience with common penetration testing and security review tooling Broad IT knowledge, preferably including development, network and sysadmin skills Attributes: Excellent problem-solving skills and analytical thinking Excellent communication skills, particularly working closely with clients to gather requirements, understand systems and tackle issues during testing Strong technical writing ability and verbal communication skills Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team Ethical approach to security testing with strong integrity Passion for continuous learning and security research Requirements Currently legally permitted to work in New Zealand Located or willing to relocate to Auckland Seniority level Seniority level Mid-Senior level Employment type Employment type Full-time Job function Job function Information Technology Industries IT Services and IT Consulting Referrals increase your chances of interviewing at Pulse Security by 2x Get notified about new Penetration Tester jobs in Auckland, Auckland, New Zealand.
