About the role
LC1 site Engineer provides technical advice, design and contracted fabrication management to the LC1 Director and staff on mechanical infrastructure; existing structure and systems repair, maintenance and replacement, project installation and upgrade, and maintenance of site drawings for HAZSUB compliance certification. As an Engineer II you will have the scope to perform independent engineering and have designated system ownership as a responsible engineer. Support in decision making beyond capability/responsibility on risk, cost or quality-based issues are referred to LC1 leadership with technical oversite and advice provided through the Ground Support Engineering group.
Essential Skills
Engineering degree
3-5 years mechanical engineering experience in public or private sector – preferably aerospace industry
Experience with fluid systems essential
Experience with cryogenic systems preferable
Skilled in Solidworks or relevant equivalent electronic design tooling
Current drivers license
Maintain updated system and services specification drawings
Maintain site HAZSUB safety segregation and explosive area drawings for site compliance certification
Design and issue drawings, complete with instructions, for fabrication by onsite techs or offsite engineering contractors
Support project works for other RL departments as directed by LC1 Director.
