Huntly Primary School is seeking a passionate and skilled

technology teacher

to lead engaging, hands-on learning experiences for our

Y7 & 8 students. This is an exciting opportunity to nurture creativity, problem-solving, and practical skills in a well-supported environment.
About the role
We are looking for an innovative teacher with expertise in one or more of the following areas:
Food technology

– Cooking, nutrition, and food safety
Soft materials technology

– Sewing, textiles, and design
Hard materials technology

– Woodwork, metalwork, and construction
Digital technology

– Coding, robotics, and computational thinking
You will design and deliver a

dynamic, hands-on curriculum

that inspires students to think critically, work collaboratively, and develop practical skills for the future.
Key responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging, practical lessons aligned with the

NZ Curriculum
Foster a safe and inclusive learning environment in the technology spaces
Guide students in using tools, materials, and digital technologies safely and effectively
Encourage creativity, innovation, and problem-solving through projects
Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the technology programme
About you
A registered teacher with experience in teaching technology (preferred)
Enthusiastic about hands-on learning and student engagement
Skilled in one or more areas of technology (food, soft materials, hard materials, digital technology)
Strong classroom management and safety awareness
A team player with great communication and organisation skills
