A well-established specialist contractor is expanding its minor works business and is seeking an experienced Site Manager to deliver technically complex projects across regional New Zealand.
This business is known for doing challenging work well — trusted by repeat clients for their planning, safety culture, and reliable site leadership.
About the Role
You will take ownership of fast-paced commercial projects typically valued between $1m–$3m , including: Commercial building extensions and fit-outs
HVAC and building services upgrades
Industrial plant and infrastructure improvements
Planned and reactive building maintenance
Projects are delivered across regional New Zealand on a FIFO-style Monday to Friday basis , with all travel, accommodation, and transport covered.
You’ll work autonomously on site, supported by an experienced, approachable management team who value trust, accountability, and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities Manage day-to-day site operations from start to finish
Lead and coordinate subcontractors and suppliers
Drive short-term programmes in live or operational environments
Maintain high standards of safety, quality, and compliance
Prepare detailed site reports and manage RFIs
Identify and mitigate construction and design risks
Build strong working relationships with clients and consultants
About You Proven experience as a Site Manager or Site Engineer in New Zealand
Trade qualification or relevant tertiary construction qualification
Experience delivering commercial construction projects
Strong understanding of construction systems and reporting
Confident working independently across multiple project types
Positive, solutions-focused leadership style
Willing and able to work away Monday to Friday
