He angitūtanga | The opportunity As Area Manager , you will lead and drive operational excellence across a portfolio of education sites in Mt Maunganui.
This role focuses on implementing sector strategy, delivering high-quality and compliant services, fostering a strong safety‐first culture, and developing high-performing teams — all while exceeding client and customer expectations.
This role will be operationally 'hands on' at times.
Ko o kawenga | Your responsibilities Lead and embed operational excellence across multiple sites, ensuring Compass quality, safety, and service standards are consistently met.
Drive strong financial performance through effective budgeting, cost control, labour management, and revenue growth initiatives.
Build trusted, long‐term client relationships and identify opportunities to improve service delivery and contract performance.
Lead, coach, and develop Supervisors and site teams through effective recruitment, performance management, succession planning, and training.
Champion health, safety, food safety, and environmental sustainability, ensuring full compliance and a strong safety culture.
He kōrero mōu | About you Proven experience as an Area Manager or in a senior multi-site operational leadership role, ideally within education, catering, or service industries.
Strong commercial acumen with experience managing multiple budgets and driving performance improvements.
A confident, people-focused leader who motivates, coaches, and develops teams across geographically spread sites.
Solid knowledge of Health & Safety, food safety, and compliance requirements, with a proactive and accountable approach.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to balance strategic thinking and hands‐on operational leadership.
