What your role and typical day might look like
As the Business Manager, you’ll be challenged to take on traditional media planning responsibilities in the team, pulling together detailed media plans that complement the media strategy into executable actions to hit the client brief. As the title suggests you’ll support some of the junior team members and play a role in managing and reporting back to the client and Business Directors on performance. The stretch as the Business Manager is the ability to manage some of our smaller clients (or smaller divisions within large clients), with the support of the senior leaders in team, while also contributing to the main goals and objectives of the team.
Responsibilities could include
Maintaining a strong understanding of the industries in client portfolio and New Zealand media marketplace staying up to date with new innovations and technologies

Assisting the Client Lead in executing client roadmaps and the team profitability plans.

Day to day management of campaign deliverables and timelines

Day to day management of client WIP’s and agency partner relationships

To support Strategy/Planning as required i.e. providing client perspective to briefed responses

To work closely with Investment to ensure client expectations are managed and delivery of performance is clearly communicated

Account reporting as required: reverse briefs, contact reports, WIP’s

Keeping clients up to date with the changing face of the media landscape

Effective problem management when required

To work with the Agency Directors and Client Partner to identify and capture award worthy work

Management include recruitment, performance reviews and training

To be pro-actively involved in new business pitches as needed

A bit about you
At least 3 years’ experience working within a Media Agency or similar environment

Understanding of media planning, buying and strategy, ideally within New Zealand

Experience with media platforms such as Pegasus, Roy Morgan and Nielsen

Strong communication and stakeholder relationship management skills with the ability to present ideas and solutions to clients and internal stakeholders.

Effective organisation skills and time management

Ability to manage a small team of people and work collaboratively

Excellent negotiation and client service skills

Become a champion for meaningful progress
