With steady demand and ongoing service requirements, we are seeking a skilled Chef to join our kitchen team and support daily operations.
Location: Unit 1, 676 Old Calder Hwy, Keilor VIC 3036
Position: Chef – Full-Time
Salary: $76,000 – $78,000 + Superannuation
About the Role
The Chef will be responsible for preparing, cooking, and presenting menu items to a high standard while supporting the smooth operation of the kitchen. This is a hands-on role requiring strong cooking skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage service efficiently during busy periods.
Key Responsibilities
1. Prepare and cook menu items in accordance with restaurant standards and recipes.
2. Ensure consistency in taste, portion size, and presentation of all dishes.
3. Assist with menu planning and preparation scheduling.
4. Monitor ingredient quality, freshness, and correct storage procedures.
5. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen work areas.
6. Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
7. Assist with stock control, ordering, and stock rotation.
8. Support and guide junior kitchen staff where required.
9. Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety requirements.
10. Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure timely and efficient service.
Skills & Experience
1. Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualification.
2. One - two years of experience working as a Chef in a commercial kitchen environment.
3. Strong understanding of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen operations.
4. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced service environment.
5. Good communication and teamwork skills.
