Job Summary:
2 CHEFS positions vacant. Applicants must have NZ citizenship or residence visa and relevant work experience or qualifications.
Job Responsibilities:
Be familiar with daily and ongoing menus, functions, outdoor and indoor catering, and bulk cooking specials.
Ensure the food is presented, portioned, and garnished correctly.
Cook ethnic Indian dishes, including tandoori and authentic South Indian dishes.
Assist with serving sizes, portioning, and quality of food preparation.
Make gravies, sauces, and marinades for curries and other dishes.
Prepare food according to customers' dietary requirements.
Ensure consistent food taste is delivered to customers.
Check the freshness of food and ingredients.
Keep stocks ready for service.
Preserve food in the chiller and freezer.
Conduct required training for Kitchen Hand and other support staff.
Ensure that all tools and equipment are kept clean.
Follow maintenance and health and safety regulations.
Maintain safety standards in the workplace.
Able to work flexible hours and take extra hours during summer.
Work split shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
Good team player with strong communication skills.
