3 Kings cherries is a modern packhouse and orchard located in sunny Central Otago, we have a dedicated team of passionate people working to ensure that 3 Kings cherries provide the best cherries available on the market.
We are looking for pickers to join our harvest crew this summer. If you are looking for an opportunity to work and live in Central Otago this summer, this could be the perfect role for you.
What the job looks like:
Fruit is picked into 5kg buckets that are strapped to your shoulders; the full buckets are put into bins by the orchard supervisor after quality has been evaluated.
Pickers must be:
Fit as the work involves the ability to climb, use, and maneuver ladders.
Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
Without back, knee, or neck injuries that could hinder performance.
Self-motivated with a strong drive to achieve results.
Confident at heights.
Capable of carrying 5kg buckets.
Reliable and able to work within a team.
Flexible around working days and hours as work is always weather and fruit dependent.
Aware of their own and others' health and safety at work.
A confident communicator.
Happy to learn on the job.
Picking work starts around mid-December through to late January or early February.
Picking work is paid on piece rates (price per bucket).
This position will be full-time, fixed term from December 2024 until February 2025, and requires a commitment for the entire season with accommodation available if required.
Prior cherry picking experience will be helpful, but full training will be provided.
There will be some flexibility in hours because of the nature of our business, and we will provide a competitive hourly rate.
