Job Opportunity: Cleaning Manager Are you interested in joining a growing company with ambitious future plans?The Role: We are seeking an experienced Cleaning Manager to join our team at Te Whatu Ora, Wellington. Our sites include Wellington Regional Hospital, Porirua, Kenepuru, Paraparaumu, and the Hutt Valley, with the primary location at Wellington Regional Hospital. This permanent, full-time, hands-on role reports directly to the Operations Manager and involves overseeing cleaning standards across all sites. The position requires flexibility in hours and locations to meet operational needs. While experience in a health environment or cleaning background is preferred, it is not essential. Key Responsibilities: Leading the cleaning team during the night shift (2:30 pm - 11:30 pm on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday; 10 am - 7 pm on Friday and Saturday). (40 hours/week)Managing and developing a large, diverse team. Maintaining positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Delivering high-quality cleaning services with excellent customer service. Applying management principles related to planning, resource allocation, human resources, leadership, and team coordination. If you possess excellent communication skills, organizational ability, a solutions-focused attitude, attention to detail, and can motivate a team to deliver high standards, we want to hear from you. The ideal candidate will be able to interact effectively with staff, clients, and the public, be physically fit, self-motivated, and capable of motivating others. Minimum Qualifications and Experience: Significant experience managing cleaning services and facilities. Proven experience developing procedures and maintaining cleaning standards. Experience managing cleaning across multiple or complex sites. Knowledge of customer service principles. Understanding of equipment, policies, and procedures related to data, property, and client contracts, including budget management. Knowledge of workplace health and safety practices. Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent in property, business, or professional cleaning (preferred). Full, clean New Zealand driving license.
