Our Commercial Corporate team is busy. We're looking for a Senior Solicitor or Associate to strengthen our team’s offering to our business clients.
Our commercial clients are based throughout New Zealand, ranging from charities through to large corporates, tertiary institutions and government agencies. They provide us with challenging and interesting work. We have long-standing relationships with many of them, going back as far as 1970 in one case. Our client base continues to grow, with a range of both new and existing business that are seeking NWM out to undertake their work. As a team, we have strong practice areas in agri-business, education, technology, manufacturing, construction and insolvency.
The range of work in this role is focused on commercial contracts, including preparing and negotiating terms of trade, service agreements, IP licensing, shareholder agreements and constitutions. Other areas of work include transactions (business, shares and financing), structuring, and general advisory work.
Knowledge in a specialty area will be an advantage, for example IP, tax, PPSA, insolvency or construction.
This is a role supporting the team Partners and senior lawyers directly – including client contact and supervision of more junior lawyers in the team.
An effective communication and delegation style will make a great impact on the team’s workflow.
A curious lawyer with a broad strategic outlook combined with an analytical mind and strong detail focus will flourish here. However, we are looking for potential as well as technical skills.
