Specialist radiologist with broad general diagnostic skills sought for 24/7 public hospital department. This position represents an excellent opportunity to work in one of New Zealand's most scenic and beautiful regions offering interesting clinical practice with an attractive lifestyle. The position is based in a public hospital radiology department which provides a 24/7 radiology service comprising diagnostic radiology and basic interventional radiology. The consultant radiologists work a combination of daytime shifts and on call duties with some external off site reporting. The service performs 54,000 - 58,000 examinations per year. Imaging provided in most modalities via: 1.5T Siemens Magnetom Aera MRI GE Resolution GSI CT ) Canon Prime SP CT (installation Taupo hospital early 2022) Siemens Artis Zee C-arm fluoroscopy suite GE Logic E9 and new E10 ultrasound units Regional PACS/RIS system (due for replacement 2022) Teleradiology service covers overnight on call Home reporting available for evening on call The area is well known for its outdoor recreational options including trout fishing, walking tracks, cycling and mountain biking. Lake and river water sports such as boating and kayaking are exceptional. Role Duties General radiology reporting Fluoroscopic procedures and reporting Ultrasound procedures and reporting CT procedures and reporting MRI procedures and reporting Interventional procedures and reporting – if appropriately credentialed On call rota 1 in 4 Monday to Friday 1700 – 2200 hours, Saturday, Sunday and Public Holidays 0800 – 1700 hours. (Outside of the above hours, off site reporting is provided via an external contractor with IANZ or equivalent accreditation for any urgent CT after 2000 hours.) Participate in the provision of the weekly/ fortnightly/ monthly clinical meetings with Medical staff and meetings within the radiology department Opportunity to work in private practice Role Requirements To be successful in your application for this opportunity as the consultant radiologist, we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history: A degree in medicine - MBBS, MBChB, MD FRANZCR or equivalent qualification in radiology Medical Council of New Zealand vocational registration or eligibility for this in the scope of radiology A broad range of general diagnostic radiology skills.
