Description

Ifyou love the great outdoors and want to kick start your career off in a place
where it is all about living, learning, and building a sound portfolio of
clinical experience that in many ways can exceed what your colleagues would
experience in a larger centre, consider Timaru Hospital.

Timaru
has very few Registrars competing for clinical experience, allowing direct
one-to-one interactions with Consultants. You will get to participate fully in theatre
cases assisting alongside the relevant Surgeon. The surgical runs also include several subspecialties
(Pain, Ophthalmology, Dental and ENT).

The
training environment supports a wide variety of specialities and there are
weekly, protected teaching sessions and Hospital Grand Rounds, along with
access to specific courses such as Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). Plus, you will have the support of a dedicated
Senior Doctor.
As a House Officer at Timaru Hospital, you will:
Provide patient-centred care under Consultant supervision
Participate in ward rounds, admissions, and discharges
Assist in theatre and support procedural work
Engage in multidisciplinary care
Attend weekly educational sessions and simulation teaching
Contribute to safe roster coverage and high-quality documentation
