The Credit Analyst ensures MTF Finance, and its shareholders are protected from financial loss through the identification and management of credit risk, in alignment with mitigation strategies and credit policy.
As part of the credit team, you will provide solutions and support for MTF Finance to minimise exposure to bad debt and credit risk by undertaking analysis and interpretation of data and insights to contribute towards ongoing development of credit risk management strategies, policies, and practices.
This role undertakes facility applications and reviews, monitoring portfolio and facility metrics, and lending approvals are key activities of the Credit Analyst role.
Just some of the things you're responsible for: Credit risk portfolio data analysis, insights, and reporting Undertake data preparation, analysis, and interpretation of data from a variety of MTF Finance, partner, and external sources.
Communicate insights to stakeholders via data visualisations, reports.
Undertake regular credit watch and credit risk indicator analysis, sharing insights with the team for action.
Undertake and report on analytical work to support credit policy development and credit risk management initiatives.
Preparing discussion papers on industry trends.
Originator facility credit risk management Approve credit applications within delegated credit authority.
Completion of originator facility reviews and application assessments, including gathering and analysing information and presenting information as required at Credit Committee level.
Communication with sales team, originators and 3rd parties regarding facility requirements, actions, and conditions.
Monitor originator credit watch.
Monitor originator recourse obligations, escalating as required, including approval of DTP extensions.
Lending – business lending and credit approvals Approval of lending transaction exceptions and credit lending approval requests within delegated credit authority.
Collaboration and communication with customers, originators and third parties in relation to credit loan approvals.
Provide expertise and support for originator lending assessments.
You'll need to have: The ability to build effective relationships and maintain composure under pressure.
Strong analytical, investigative, and problem‐solving capability – able to make quick and sound decisions about lending approvals.
Highly organised, efficient, and self‐managed in order to meet deadlines.
An eye for detail and a head for numbers, with commitment to quality and accuracy.
High levels of integrity and privacy, able to maintain strict confidentiality.
Strong interpersonal and communications skills (verbal and written) – able to prepare papers for review by Management, Credit Committee and Board.
