We’re looking for a talented multi-disciplinary Data Engineer to help us build a scalable and robust data solution within our new Data & Analytics platform to be deployed across dozens of our customer base. In this role, you’ll be a source of technical knowledge and experience, facilitating, and building our solution to the market. You’ll be on projects for customers solving complex problems that require a varied and multi-disciplinary skillset. You’ll need to understand the full picture, and design end-to-end solution, with attention to user and business requirements.

As a B2B software and service provider bringing complex, mission critical systems to a few large-scale clients in the UK and across the globe, we will only fulfil our global aspirations if we have the most talented leadership working with these clients to secure their business through the delivery and support of great technology.

Gentrack is a 600 person, growing business, listed in the public markets of New Zealand and Australia. The main people centres are in London, Auckland, Melbourne and Pune.

What will you be doing?

Creating import processes to get data into Snowflake using Snowpipe, AWS SQS, and Snowflake events
Creating transformation processes to build our data models
Creating reports and dashboards from the models using Tableau
Analysing data to understand and troubleshoot the industry process modelling


Solid Data Engineering experience
Experience with Snowflake (ideally) or other cloud based data warehousing platform (e.g. Amazon Redshift, Google BigQuery, Firebolt, Databricks, etc)
Experience with ELT/ETL tools
Complex ANSI SQL queries
Some data modelling experience
Customer facing skills, ability to take part in demos and workshops
Quick learner, a team player, independent and motivated individual
(Desirable) Data visualisation: Ideally, Tableau
(Desirable) BSc Computer Science/Data Management or equivalent
