Oaks Auckland Hotel  are looking for an experienced and passionate Demi Chef  to oversee the kitchen operations at : DASH on a part-time basis.

The menu moves at guest speed – grab a coffee, share a Caesar, or settle in for sliders, skewers, and a craft beer before the show. Every dish is built for flow, flavour, and consistency – the fundamentals done right, every time.

Key Responsibilities Include:
Prepare and cook a variety of dishes in line with menu standards and guest expectations.
Assist in the development and plating of high-quality meals.
Maintain cleanliness, organisation, and compliance with food safety, hygiene, and Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) standards.
Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure efficient service and smooth operations.
Support and mentor junior kitchen staff where required.
Contribute to menu planning, recipe development, and kitchen efficiency improvements.

Shift Details (subject to change):
Part-time position
Minimum 20 hour per week

Qualifications

Previous experience as a Demi Chef or in a similar kitchen role.
Formal culinary qualification.
Ability to manage your own section confidently, maintaining consistency and quality.
Understanding of HACCP, OH& S, and kitchen hygiene requirements.
Strong teamwork and communication skills.
Positive, proactive attitude and genuine passion for cooking.
Flexibility to work across a range of shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
