We are seeking dynamic, high‐performing individuals to join our Digital Forensics Unit in Wellington.
You'll play an essential role in supporting investigations by uncovering and analysing digital evidence, helping our frontline and specialist teams bring clarity to complex situations.

Digital Forensics sits at the heart of modern policing.
As part of the High‐Tech Crime Group, you will be immersed in a fast‐moving, ever‐changing environment where your skills will directly support investigative outcomes.
You will receive training, mentorship, and on‐the‐job experience, developing advanced capability across all aspects of digital forensics – from acquisition and analysis to reporting and expert testimony.

Digital Forensic Analyst If you already have practical digital forensic experience, this may be the level for you.
Analysts typically bring certifications such as IACIS CFCE or SANS GCFE.
Analysts are expected to operate with greater independence, drawing on proven experience in digital forensic acquisition, analysis, and reporting.

Security Clearance Requirements To be eligible for this role, you must obtain and maintain a SECRET national security clearance.
The minimum criteria for this level of national security clearance is: NZ Citizen who has resided continuously in NZ for the last 10 years, or: A Permanent Resident who has resided continuously in NZ for the last 10 years, or A citizen of or has resided continuously in one or more of the following countries for the last 10 years: Australia, Canada, United Kingdom, or United States of America, and has a background that can be verified by the NZSIS.

This position is covered by a collective agreement, and salary will commence between the below salary ranges dependent on skills and experience relevant to the role.
Analyst $102,808 - $108,894 If you are an internal applicant, you must apply internally through the police system.
