Te Motu Vineyard, Restaurant and Cellar Door

Te Motu is a small family owned vineyard and restaurant on Waiheke Island. We have a long standing reputation for creating award winning Bordeaux style red wines, and exceptional food from 'The Shed' restaurant to match. Due to our location, the ideal applicant must live or would be happy to live or relocate to Waiheke Island, a 45-minute ferry from Downtown Auckland.

The Role:

Duty Manager - Assistant cellar door manager

Reporting to our Cellar Door Manager, you will be assisting in the management of day-to-day operations at the Te Motu Cellar door.

The role is a full-time position and requires flexibility and applicants must be willing to work weekends. We have a great solid team, and offer good remuneration for the right person.

We also have senior waitstaff opportunities if that's more your thing.

Tasks & responsibilities may include
Perform premium guided wine tastings for small and large groups
Manager on Duty - assisting to run service in cellar door / restaurant
Stocktaking and ordering
Rostering staff
Staff Training (FOH steps of service - Wine training all staff)
Manage individual bookings and events
Daily Admin tasks (emails, cash up, record keeping for tours, invoicing, etc.)
Job requires some heavy lifting (moving cases of wine for stocking/etc on a regular basis
 
Qualifications & experience
At least 2 years experience in Hospitality industry
Formal wine training
Some management experience an advantage
Excellent written/spoken English (Public Speaking skills)
Must have a current Manager's certificate under sale and supply of alcohol Act 2012
Must live on Waiheke Island or be willing to relocate or commute
To be successful in this role you will have:
A proven performance record with at least two years’ experience in a similar position.
A natural ability of being very detailed and organised, able to understand our venues systems and procedures.
