About the role | Mō te tūranga Due to an internal promotion, we are looking for someone who brings strong people leadership alongside solid operational capability.
In this role, you'll: Lead and support a team of lecturers to deliver engaging programmes across undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate levels.
Be a steady, supportive presence for our tauira — from teaching and pastoral care to assessment visits and noho marae.
Build trusted partnerships in the community, including with iwi, ECE centres and schools.
Help create memorable milestone moments for our tauira, including orientation and graduation.
Contribute to research that strengthens practice and improves outcomes across our sector.
Coach and develop lecturers, helping them grow in confidence, capability and impact.

You'll be someone who leads with empathy and clarity, brings others with you, and enjoys building a culture where people feel respected, supported and able to succeed.
You will bring: Proven professional leadership/people management skills The ability to foster a culture of respect and collaboration A Master's degree in education or higher teaching qualifications plus experience teaching and/or mentoring adults at tertiary level Teacher registration and a current practicing certificate (essential)A current full driver's license and vehicle for work use ECE or primary sector experience At Te Rito Maioha, we're guided by our values and a strong sense of purpose.
