One of our wonderful teachers is pursuing further studies and is moving overseas which opens an opportunity for a passionate heart-centred teacher for our Preschool Room (3-5 year olds)! Preference will be given to those teachers who have worked in a New Zealand ECE context and have an understanding of Te Whariki.
As a Centre, we draw inspirational influence from the work of Pennie Brownlee and from the teachings of Reggio Emilia, Italy. We are guided by respectful practice, and we are eager to explore inquiry-based learning and project work. To support our children in their investigations, we have a dedicated creative space, also known as our Atelier, in our outside cottage. Here, children are encouraged to wonder and to experiment with the possibilities of different tools, materials and techniques, and how these can be used to communicate their ideas and feelings.

We have a collaborative and experienced Room Leader to offer support where needed.
To apply for this role you will need:
Bachelor of Teaching (ECE/or Primary)
Provisional or Full Teachers Registration
Confident with programme planning
Experience with the Reggio Emilia philosophy and inquiry-based learning would be advantageous
Excellent English communication skills; writing, speaking and listening
A love for people, big and small, and calm, loving, respectful
Team player who is flexible, reliable and collaborative
Sound knowledge of child development, especially 3-5 year olds
Passionate about creating inspiring and beautiful environments; igniting wonder, curiosity and stimulating learning experiences
This is a full-time position, set roster from Monday to Thursday and a rotating roster on a Friday. The Centre is open from 7.30am-6pm. You will also be expected to attend staff meetings, open days and parent evenings (sufficient notice will be given).
