Whakatane, New Zealand Reference: *******Commissioner and List Members Expressions of interest are invited for consideration for appointment as the Commissioner and/or List Members of the Eastern Bay of Plenty District Licensing Committee.
The Committee will have responsibility for all local decisions on applications made under the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act ****, including premises licence applications, renewals, variations, suspensions and cancellations; new applications and renewals of manager's certificates; applications for temporary authority; and special licences.
These are regulatory decision-making roles and success will require a strong ability to function at a strategic and independent level, with a sound knowledge of the relevant legislation and a strong community interest.
Attributes Sought Strong relationship skills The ability to represent the wider public interest Understanding of governance issues A high standard of personal integrity Time available to undertake duties No conflict or perceived conflict of interest, including being a current Police Officer, Medical Officer of Health, Licensing Inspector or employee of a territorial authority Additional Attributes for Commissioner Position Chair experience Legal and/or hearing experience A person of good community standing Appointments and Training Appointments will be subject to satisfactory police and reference checks.
All appointees will be provided training before commencing duties from 15 December **** (Commissioner) or 1 April **** (List Members).
