Human Resources Business Partner | Whakapapa Job ID: 160633 Department: Human Resources Listed: January 17, 2024 The Whakapapa whanau are a small but ambitious team, running year-round operations on the northern slopes of Mt Ruapehu.

In winter, from June until October, this includes a world-class ski area.

In summer, from December until April, this includes our summer sightseeing operation, heroing our iconic Sky Waka gondola.

Each year we welcome hundreds of thousands of manuhiri (guests) to Whakapapa, many with life-long connections to the maunga (mountain) and surrounding rohe (region), some even third or fourth generation.

As we embark on the next chapter for Whakapapa we are seeking a talented and experienced Human Resources Business Partner with a passion for fostering positive workplace environments and play a key role in shaping our company's success.

Mo te tunga | About the role As the Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) you will be an integral part of our whanau.

You will work closely with our leaders and employees to drive HR initiatives that align with the overall business strategies and organisational goals.

You will oversee payroll and lead a small HR team while serving as a trusted advisor, providing strategic guidance on various HR matters, and contributing to the development and implementation of HR programs that enhance the employee experience.

Key responsibilities include: Leading end-to-end recruitment processes collaborate with hiring managers, and implement strategies for talent attraction and retention.

Overseeing the creation and distribution of accurate employment agreements, stay updated on employment laws, and ensure alignment with company policies.

Overseeing accurate and timely payroll processing, collaborate with managers for data validation, and address payroll discrepancies efficiently while staying updated on tax laws.

Providing guidance on HR policies and procedures, manage and resolve employee relations issues, and support performance management processes.

Collaborating on well-being programs, monitor and improve employee morale and engagement, and coordinate wellness activities promoting work-life balance.

Assessing training needs, coordinate the delivery of training sessions and seminars, and evaluate training effectiveness while supporting career development.

Acting as a strategic partner to business leaders, align HR strategies with overall business objectives, and provide insights for decision-making related to HR functions.

Providing leadership and guidance to the HR team, set clear goals and expectations aligned with organizational objectives, and oversee day-to-day HR operations while supporting team development.

A degree-level qualification in Human Resources or a related field Proven experience as a HRBP or in a similar role Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build sustainable relationships based on trust and credibility with senior leaders Sound judgement and ability to navigate problems to reach pragmatic outcomes Depth of knowledge and skills in dealing with complex employment relations matters, including employment disciplinaries and change processes In-depth knowledge of payroll processes, tax regulations, and employment laws.

Remuneration range for this role is $90,000 - $110,000 per annum depending on experience.

On 18 December, DOC announced public notification of Pure Turoa Limited's concession application to operate Turoa ski area.
