About the Role:
As a permanent, full-time English teacher at Te Kāpehu Whetū, you will have the opportunity to teach ākonga (students) from Y9 through 13. You will be responsible for creating and delivering engaging lessons that cater to diverse learning styles, inspire a love of literature and language, and support our ākonga in becoming confident, creative, and critical thinkers.
We are looking for someone who:
Holds a recognised teaching qualification and is fully registered with the New Zealand Teaching Council.
Has experience teaching English at secondary school level, with a genuine passion for both junior and senior classes.
Demonstrates strong communication, classroom management, and organisational skills, with the ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Is dedicated to the academic and personal growth of ākonga, ensuring their success.
Actively contributes to the collaborative team culture and engages with kura-wide initiatives and professional development opportunities.
Focuses on ākonga well-being and success, with a commitment to developing well-rounded individuals.
Values bilingualism and celebrates diversity in learning.
Is located in a vibrant community with strong ties to local iwi.
