About the Role
On behalf of our client, we are seeking an energetic and experienced Facility Supervisor to oversee critical operations within their advanced processing facility. This pivotal role requires a hands-on leader who will ensure the seamless flow of product through various production stages while maintaining rigorous quality standards. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver with excellent attention to detail, capable of coordinating between departments and leading a team to achieve operational targets in a fast-paced FMCG environment.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Quality Control & Product Management
• Conduct thorough quality assessments of all incoming products, evaluating against strict quality specifications and determining appropriate grading protocols and resource allocation
• Implement and maintain continuous quality monitoring systems throughout all production stages, including initial washing, primary grading, secondary inspection, and final quality assurance checkpoints
• Proactively identify and resolve quality issues related to mechanical damage, grading inconsistencies, or processing variations, implementing immediate corrective actions to maintain product integrity
• Ensure complete and accurate Quality Assurance documentation is maintained throughout the production process, guaranteeing full product traceability from receipt through to final dispatch
Operational Excellence & Process Coordination
• Maintain and monitor strict temperature control protocols throughout product handling, storage, and dispatch operations to preserve product freshness and maximise shelf life
• Facilitate effective cross-departmental coordination between harvest, maintenance, and dispatch teams to ensure seamless operational workflow and timely product movement
• Oversee comprehensive waste management procedures, ensuring compliance with established protocols and environmental regulations while minimising product loss
• Manage all dispatch operations to guarantee outgoing products meet exact quality specifications and are prepared according to customer requirements and delivery schedules
Team Leadership & Compliance Management
• Develop and deliver comprehensive training programs for all personnel, ensuring consistent adherence to standard operating procedures and quality standards
• Provide ongoing coaching and performance feedback to team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence
• Implement and enforce all safety protocols and quality procedures, conducting regular audits to ensure ongoing compliance with industry regulations
• Manage daily production activities and resource allocation to meet operational targets while maintaining focus on quality, efficiency, and team safety
Essential Qualifications & Experience
• AQF Certificate III or IV in Food Processing, Horticulture, Operations Management, or equivalent qualification is essential
• Minimum 3 years of post-qualification experience in a supervisory role within FMCG, food processing, or fresh produce facilities
• Demonstrated experience in quality control, process management, and team supervision within a fast-paced production environment
