ADInstruments provides innovative solutions to facilitate research and education for organisations operating within the life science sphere. With a team of 60 in New Zealand and 180 globally, operating from 11 offices around the world and alongside an extensive global distribution network, we are a leader in our field. We’re excited to have the opportunity for a Finance Manager to join our team.
The Team
We value diversity of all kinds, and are committed to building a diverse and inclusive team where we learn from each other. You’ll be joining the focused and trusted individuals who make up our Global Finance team, based in Dunedin. We’re excited to introduce you to the ADInstruments culture of passionate people who love science, learning and creating world-class products.
Your Role
Reporting to the COO/CFO and leading a team of 4 in Dunedin, you will be responsible for ensuring the financial management aspects of the Group’s operations are met within the objectives of our stakeholders. You will partner closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams based all over the world. From board reporting and project governance to tax oversight and government grant management, this role offers breadth, impact, and the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to strategic financial outcomes in a dynamic, international environment.
Skills and Experience
We are looking for a fully qualified CA (CAANZ or similar) with substantial post-qualification experience in financial management, ideally at a group or consolidated level. You’ll bring sharp analytical thinking, advanced Excel skills, and a detail-focused mindset, combined with excellent communication and leadership capabilities. Experience with New Zealand tax and transfer pricing, foreign exchange, and cloud-based accounting systems like Net Suite will be highly regarded. You should be comfortable managing competing priorities, supporting project teams, and mentoring finance professionals to grow their capability. A background in the technology sector would be a bonus, but above all, we value a proactive, solutions-oriented approach and the ability to drive continuous improvement.
What’s in it for you
Working at ADI, you will have the opportunity to work with driven, passionate and future-focused people, in a company that prides itself on global collaboration and its inclusive employee culture. The Dunedin office is a flexible work environment located in the heart of a modern café precinct. You will have ample opportunity for learning and development, and have hands-on support from our COO/CFO. We are proud of our competitive remuneration strategy, and range of additional benefits including a flexible work policy, wellness initiatives, paid parental leave, and additional leave options. Our staff enjoy regular empathy sessions, happy hours, social club activities, and our annual volunteer day.
Applications close Monday 28 April 2025. We will be reviewing applications and shortlisting candidates as they are received.
