The Integration and Delivery team has a clear mission: to provide robust support and continuous improvement to both existing and new applications, spanning clinical and corporate realms. Our focus is on optimising workflow, ensuring systems are responsive, intuitive to use, and easy to access.

At the helm of the Integration and Delivery function are the Group Managers, who hold key relationships with internal and external partners. This collaborative approach ensures the alignment of demand and delivery, ultimately resulting in an end-to-end service for all stakeholders. 

Furthermore, the Integration and Delivery function carries responsibility for various elements of PMO functions, spanning from the PMO Centre of Excellence to the actual delivery function within each region.

Mōu | About you

The role of Group Manager PMO Delivery Practice offers an exciting opportunity for you to leverage your expertise in Programme and Project Management Practices to drive impactful change within Data & Digital (D&D). You understand that effective project delivery is more than just a process – it's about instilling confidence in our ability to meet deadlines, budgets, and quality benchmarks.

 In this role, you will be providing leadership to the Data & Digital PMO and practice, ensuring that initiatives are executed effectively and with confidence. Your strategic mindset will ensure that the pathways for project management are clear, efficient, and optimized for success while providing leadership to the Data & Digital PMO and practice, ensuring that initiatives are executed effectively and with confidence. 

You'll lead the charge in establishing a Centre of Excellence in Portfolio, Programme, and Project Management (P3 M) across the D&D teams and as an advisor across Data & Digital project management offices, you'll shape consistent good practices and elevate capability maturity.

Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience

  • Minimum ten years' relevant experience in PMO Delivery Practice, Project/Programme Delivery, application lifecycle, ‘as a service' delivery and 
  • Proven experience in developing and delivering projects and programmes and managing associated financials 
  • Minimum five years' experience managing, leading, and developing IT staff across operational, change and engagement areas 
  • Previous experience engaging with/managing vendors at management and operational levels 
  • Extensive understanding and experience in the application of PMO management principles, processes and tools in a complex industry or ecosystem in the digitisation of business processes 
  • Breadth of knowledge across a range of IT areas (e.g., service delivery, operations, design & architecture, requirements gathering, customer engagement, vendor management) 
  • Demonstratable experience in the use of Dev Ops and Agile ways of working 
  • Experience of managing operating budgets within a public sector context
