We are looking for an Associate Civil Engineer to join our dedicated and passionate Development Infrastructure team based in our new Head office in Wynyard Quarter, Auckland. Our team of over 50 civil engineers, project managers, and construction management professionals work across a range of transformative infrastructure projects across Aotearoa, Australia, and the Pacific. We provide civil engineering expertise to projects in urban redevelopment, streetscape upgrades, land development, roading, highways, industrial, buildings, water, power, ports, airports, and rail. The variety of projects, geographies, and clients offers endless opportunities for personal and professional growth. With a strong pipeline of work and increasing market opportunities, we seek to add key team members to support ongoing delivery and growth. Working with some of NZ’s best civil engineers and designers to deliver flagship projects, you will: Lead and participate in client relationship management, project delivery, proposal preparation, planning, and financial management. Work directly with clients and project partners, providing technical direction and design advice across various civil and multidisciplinary projects. Lead design teams, offering technical oversight, training, and guidance to junior staff. Develop and grow relationships with clients, industry groups, and the wider Beca team. Mōu ake | About you Your passion, design, and problem-solving mindset will be complemented by a desire to work on meaningful projects in a multidisciplinary environment. You will also: Be a Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng or equivalent) in Civil Engineering with a proven record in delivering multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects. Have experience leading projects and engaging with clients in infrastructure development. Possess a broad civil engineering skillset, with significant experience in planning, design, and construction support across various project types, including stormwater, three waters, utilities, earthworks, geometric design, pavements, and contract administration. Familiarity with local standards and regulatory processes is essential. Be proficient with civil design and modelling software such as Auto CAD, Civil 3 D, Open Roads Designer, or 12 D. Bring a proactive, collaborative attitude and enjoy teamwork. Be committed to personal development and supporting junior team members; previous management experience is advantageous. Have experience managing project finances and working directly with clients. Be a self-starter, motivated to deliver excellent solutions. Experience with projects involving Three Waters Infrastructure, Utilities, site development, or land transport is desirable. Our team values a good sense of humor and a collaborative spirit.
