Te Whiwhinga mahi- The Opportunity- Commercial Products Lead We are a small team with a lot of complex commercial matters to manage, so team fit is important to us.

The x factor for our team is the ability to collaborate using our different strengths and expertise to get to the best outcomes, with our mix of legal, commercial, project and contract management and negotiation experience.

This role will be responsible for leading and managing accurate inputs into Funding and Budgets and providing specialist advice supporting the contracts team and PT service delivery with variation pricing proposals.

Timetable and service levels are commonly varied to reflect our dynamic and ever-changing PT network.

This includes the development of funding business cases and coordination of overall budget expenditure to improve the value for money of public transport in Auckland and return on public subsidy investment.

This role also supports our ongoing major public transport procurement initiatives and leads commercial analysis and performance monitoring for PT related contracts.

Major focus areas include the bus procurement programme, ferry services procurement, On Demand (AT HOP product) services, Total Mobility, and other PT/ operations related initiatives.

Key Tasks include: Supporting the Annual Fare Review process and implementation including tactical pricing measures.

Working with finance and funding teams, liaising and interfacing with Auckland Council group parties and NZTA in respect of revenue performance and long-term implications particularly with respect to Super Gold, Community Connect and AT concessions.

Providing timely commercial, financial and cost support and advice across the Integrated Networks division, including preparing price models, cost estimates and forecasts for existing, new, varied and proposed public transport services and facility operations.

Supporting the re-contracting and re-tendering of bus, ferry and related workstreams, including working with delivery and other SMEs teams, as required.

Identifying, evaluating and implementing new funding and revenue opportunities for public transport.

Minimum Requirements: A tertiary degree qualification is required in accounting, commerce, business administration or related discipline.

Desirable is Chartered Accountancy.

Minimum of 10 years' experience in a commercial role in government or private sector.

Experience in drafting reports, board papers and business case development, preferably in the transport sector.

An understanding and appreciation of the workings and functions of local government.

Previous experience as a financial analyst or similar.

Previous procurement and project management experience.

Contract preparations and negotiation experience in a complex, multi-party environment.
