Early Childhood Education Centre Leader - Mt Wellington
About us:
Our Mt Wellington centre is a beautiful purpose-built and newly renovated home away from home for up to 45 tamariki, including 10 under twos. We value small groups, great ratios and focus on supporting our families with wraparound services. We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced or aspiring Early Childhood Education Leader to join our team as our Centre Leader. You will be joining a kind, caring and empathetic team working in a small, home-like environment, within a community hub.

You will be responsible for:
Building, maintaining and leading a team of kaiako. Supporting staff to ensure tamariki, parents and whānau enjoy a positive learning environment where best practice is followed. This includes being responsible for the financial viability, educational quality and missional opportunities of the centre. You will work with tamariki, parents, whānau, kaiako and will support staff to provide a warm, safe, loving and learner-friendly environment where tamariki thrive. Additionally, you will build/maintain connections with the wider Salvation Army and other community services to provide wraparound support for the ECE community.
Key tasks:
Leadership
Curriculum guidance and implementation
Management of team including rostering, maintaining ratios and staffing levels
Health and Safety
Mission support
Minimum two years experience in leading a team (flexible for the right candidate) and the ability to work cohesively within a team
Excellent knowledge of MOE, ERO, and teacher registration requirements and standards for Early Childhood Education
Ability to relate to people from a diverse range of backgrounds
Computer competent with a working knowledge of Discover (or other child software management system)
Sound problem solving, decision making, planning and evaluation skills
Sound budgeting and financial understanding of Early Childhood Education centres
Sympathy toward and support of the aims of The Salvation Army.
Time and desk management skills to prioritize multiple tasks and keep track of work in progress and meet deadlines.

Qualifications:
Bachelor of Teaching (Early Childhood Education) or equivalent qualification and a current teaching practicing certificate

40 per week

$101,120
