About the role:
In this newly created role of
First Line Risk & Assurance Lead , you will ensure compliance with policies, regulatory requirements, and our risk appetite while driving operational excellence and continuous improvement. You will lead a team, manage risk frameworks, and collaborate with leadership and Second Line to promote a strong risk culture and ensure fair customer outcomes.
Leading a new team whose responsibilities include overseeing quality assurance, testing controls, and providing expert advice on risk management. You’ll also work closely with auditors, regulators, and other business units to enhance risk practices and ensure successful outcomes. This role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact by fostering a culture of risk awareness across the organisation.
Key responsibilities:
About you:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance or a related field
Minimum 7 years of expertise in risk, assurance, and/or audit in the insurance and/or financial services
Proven experience providing risk advice and support, ideally in a financial services environment
Professional certifications (e.g. IRM, PRM) are advantageous
Strong communication and relationship-building skills, capable of managing internal and external stakeholders effectively
Strong influencing techniques and strategies
Expertise in identifying areas for improvement and implementing innovative, practical solutions
Success-oriented, proactive and committed to achieving challenging objectives and delivering excellence
