The Role
Our initial success has paved the way to significantly develop our core offering and explore complementary opportunities. At this stage, our target market is the growth sector – typically businesses with several million dollars in revenue and seeking anywhere from $1m - $30m in capital to fund growth. For many investors, this type of company has a far more appealing risk/return profile, with a far clearer path to exit. As a sector, these companies are under-serviced. They’re too large for angel groups and too small for Private Equity funds. While some of these companies, particularly those approaching a listing, or those who would benefit from the publicity want to offer shares to the public, some are also after larger and/or ‘strategic’ investors. Snowball Effect has an investor audience of ~55,000 investors, with ~5,000 certified as ‘wholesale investors’.
It is important that we develop a pipeline of high-quality companies wanting to raise capital, and then tailor the best solution to that company. Our Growth Directors are charged with identifying high-quality companies who are seeking capital and then working alongside these companies and investors to execute the capital raises.
We’re hiring an Investment Solutions Lead to support the ongoing development of Snowball Effect’s online investment platform, and more specifically, to work closely with the Growth Directors to prepare companies for their capital raise. When companies raise capital through Snowball Effect they often choose a nominee company structure, rather than managing the shareholders themselves. An Investment Solution Lead also plays a crucial role in the management of this nominee company.
You’ll provide the skills and expertise to support this fundamental and growing part of our business and continue to develop it into a thriving and highly profitable business unit within our wider investment platform. The role will be challenging as the path forward is largely uncharted, with the role critical to the success of the business.
It is important that Snowball Effect continues to have a distinctively different voice and retains a personality that distinguishes it from the rest of the capital market, and that both investors and companies are attracted to a far more exciting, personable, and intimate experience as a result. Where possible, you’ll want to develop a strong network within the New Zealand capital markets, with entrepreneurs, advisors, and investors.
Key Accountabilities
Snowball is looking for an Investment Solutions Lead to take on a pivotal role in our capital-raising initiatives. This position requires preparing key elements of capital raises, nominee ownership and supporting the managed funds product where needed. You will work closely with Growth Directors, ensuring the seamless execution of everything you do.
You will be tasked with:
Project Management : Oversee and manage the capital raise process alongside directors to ensure a smooth and timely capital raise.
Capital Raise Preparation : Support Growth Directors to develop high-quality information packs that will include Pitch Decks, Information Memorandums, online offer pages, and other written and financial information to support a successful capital raise.
Capital Raise Project Management : Plan and oversee the project management of each capital raise from initial engagement to a closed offer.
Nominee and Shareholder Management : Oversee and manage the nominee structure, handle shareholder resolutions, facilitate share transfers, and execute loan conversions with precision. In time explore the opportunity to develop this into its own business unit, and if desired, scale up this part of the Snowball Effect business.
Investor Relations : Written and verbal communication with investors
Marketing Support : Supporting marketing lead and directors with Offer and investor marketing initiatives.
Pre-emptive Rights Offers : Lead pre-emptive rights processes for alumni companies.
You will also have responsibilities for various day-to-day tasks that are crucial to the operational success of Snowball Effect. To fit into this role we’d love to see:

This is an intermediate-level role where you will have a meaningful impact on Snowball Effect's growth, helping with the company’s capital-raising activities, and corporate actions and ensuring operational excellence.
