About the role This role’s primary focus is taking ownership of all general ledger activities and the timely and accurate completion of month-end.
Reporting to the Financial Controller, and working closely with a strong a collaborative team, you will get to put your technical accounting skills to use and develop a broad and deep understanding of TSB, its people, and data.
Who are you? You will have experience in accounting processes, general ledger activities, reconciliations, and financial analysis to complete month end and assist with preparing financial statements and other regulatory reporting requirements.
You will have proven financial control experience as the “keeper” of process documentation for all financial accounting, external reporting and tax.
You will provide evidence of your knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and Reserve Bank of NZ (RBNZ) policy and regulations, with the ability to provide tax advice that will ensure TSB meets it’s tax obligations.
You are a great communicator who takes ownership of tasks, and confident to engage with multiple stakeholders.
You enjoy identifying opportunities to enhance existing processes through continuous improvement.
In this role, you can expect to: Take ownership of the month end activities, including approving journals and preparing balance sheet reconciliations Be accountable for general ledger activities, including analysing figures and understand key drivers Liaise and problem solving with the wider business on the flow of financial information Work closely with internal and external stakeholders such as tax advisers, internal audit and IRD.
Work with the finance team to continually review processes and identify improvement opportunities We are looking for candidates who have: 5+ years’ experience in technical accounting or taxation.
Advanced knowledge of financial accounting and reporting concepts and processes.
