Our client is an established manufacturer of medical devices for chronic wound care and hernia repair. They are a competitive contributor to the global wound care market and are expanding their product portfolio. About the Role

The Senior Product Development Engineer reports to the Product Development Manager and will manage new product development projects from early concept through to design verification testing and commercial readiness. The role is hands‐on, technically demanding, and requires leading and contributing to robust testing, risk management, and design control processes in a highly regulated field. The engineer will also mentor junior staff and work collaboratively.

This is a full‐time, permanent role, working on site at Airport Oaks, Auckland. 40 hours per week Monday to Friday between 8 am and 6 pm, with flexibility within these times. About the Candidate

Key qualifications and experience:

Bachelor or Master's degree in Engineering, Biotechnology, or a related field.
6+ years' experience in a similar role in pharmaceuticals or medical devices (or another highly regulated field). Exposure to the medical device industry is essential.
Demonstrated experience designing and developing new products through to design verification and launch.
Proven capability in developing and executing test strategies, with deep understanding of design verification processes and planning.
Experience leading projects with strong organisational skills and the ability to manage timelines, resources, and cross‐functional stakeholders.
Knowledge of 3 D modelling software such as SOLIDWORKS, Rhino 3 D, CREO or other similar CAD software is advantageous.
Strong skills in risk management and design control processes aligned with regulatory and quality standards.
Ability to multitask and prioritise workload.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
