Mercy Hospice is seeking a Trusts and Foundations Coordinator to join our Fundraising team. Responsible for maintaining our annual grants calendar, researching new funding opportunities, working with Mercy Hospice staff to determine funding requirements, submitting high quality funding applications and accountabilities in-line with the grants calendar and funder requirements, tracking grant spend, writing resolution summaries and board reports and maintaining relationships with funders.

Ngā kawenga matua o te mahi / Key responsibilities of the role:
Research and prospecting:
Identifying and researching potential trusts and foundations that align with Mercy Hospice’s mission and strategic goals.
Proposal writing and submission:
Preparing grant proposals that are customised to match the priorities and guidelines of each funder.
Donor stewardship and relationship management:
Cultivating and maintaining relationships with trust and foundation representatives and providing regular updates.
Grant management and compliance:
Monitoring and managing administration of grants, including tracking funds, ensuring compliance with grant terms, and preparing timely accountability reports to funders.
Planning and reporting:
Planning and maintaining the annual grants calendar, analysing trends and feedback, and provide reporting on grants activity and outcomes.
Collaboration and coordination:
Working closely with staff from other departments to gather information to support the preparation of grant proposals.
Administrative duties:
Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of grant submissions, awards, and communications.
Ngā pūkenga e hiahiatia / Skills you’ll bring to the role:
3+ years’ experience in a similar role.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Experience with grant management software or CRM systems.
Excellent relationship building skills and the ability to communicate confidently and effectively with relevant individuals and groups.
Familiarity with budgeting and financial reporting in the context of grant management.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft formal reports and presentations.
